Broncolor parabolic8/12/2023 Instead, they sport a recessed flash tube and an integrated 77-degree reflector. The most concerning part of attempting to use this combo is that the B1's and B2's do not have an exposed flash tube. While it may be sacrilege to pair the two big competing brands, Broncolor does make a Profoto adapter for their Para focusing tubes, so we knew that our heads would be able to be mounted natively, without the use of that funky universal bracket-thing, or frankensteining an adapter or mount with various clamps and pins, or using another stand to boom it in place. So, to help others that may be in the same situation, we set out to put together some first-hand information on using the Broncolor Para's in conjunction with Profoto B1's and B2's. Information we did manage to find was based on knowledge of the products in question, and no first-hand or anecdotal information on the combo in use. While doing our research on these modifiers - The Para 133 in particular - we could not find any definitive information on their compatibility with Profoto's OCF-series flash heads (the B1's and B2's). This won't be an all-out review of the Broncolor Para 133 (we'll save that for another post), but rather our challenges and experiences when using it with Profoto's OCF-series flashes. Excellent for beauty and fashion work, the Broncolor Para's can fill a multitude of roles in any lighting kit. Their unique properties make for an unmistakable quality of light well-suited to our needs. It can be shut like a normal umbrella and folded lengthways like a pocket umbrella for transport and storage. The Broncolor Para's are a modifier that we've been eyeing for some time. With these, the umbrella can be suspended from the ceiling or secured on the ground by means of tension ropes. To stabilize the Para 330 FB also under unfavorable conditions, for example in the open air, eight fastening-eyelets are integrated on the outer side. The focusing device is integrated in the umbrella. The aluminum rod with continuous fine adjustment and lamp support serve for focusing the light source, by sliding the lamp head parallel to optical axis. Using that crank handle, when mounting, the new mechanism opens up and tensions the umbrella completely, without any effort. In the apex of the umbrella, that means at the back of the Para FB, there is a crank handle. Due to the calculated parabolic shape of the umbrella, light fall off towards the edges is negligible. In comparison to a large area lamp the light stays constantly brilliant, shrouding the object like a cloud of light and bringing out wonderfully the structures. It allows the choice of directed light with high contrast to extremely soft light. The design of the Para 330 FB results in a very high light efficiency. Can also be used with the Broncolor daylight lamp head HMI F575 as well as (with restrictions) with the Primo lamp head. Optimized for operation with Pulso G, Pulso Twin and Pulso 8 lamp heads. Parabolic umbrella with 24 braces, diameter 330 cm and very shiny silver coating on the inside.
